Four Tuesdays from November 17 give you one finance workflow redesigned with AI and a file your controller can act on.

AI You Can Sign Off On is for controllers, accountants and firm staff who want to start now. You choose one workflow, rebuild it with AI, add the checks a reviewer would ask for, prove it with a run on the Northwind books, and hand in a short file that says what changes, what it costs and what stays with a person.

The details

Everything you need to plan the four weeks fits on one screen.

Live sessions

Tuesdays, November 17, November 24, December 1 and December 8, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm Eastern. Each session is recorded and posted, with the slides, within 24 hours.

Coursework

About one to two hours a week, submitted online before the next session. Each week you submit an experiments log, a project piece, a discussion post with one reply to a colleague in your group of about eight, and a 150-word reflection.

Feedback

Written feedback on every submission. An AI grading assistant drafts it against a list of what strong work looks like, and a person reviews and releases it before you see it.

Final deliverable

Due Monday, December 14. Three to five pages plus appendices. Feedback by Thursday, December 17, one revision by Monday, December 21, and final results by Wednesday, December 23. Nothing runs into the holidays.

Completion

Four weekly submissions accepted and a final deliverable scored 70 or more out of 100. A person reads the deliverable and decides the score.

Data

The Northwind books only, so no company or client records are needed and nothing confidential leaves your firm.

What you will see

Each session is built on a recorded AI run, so you watch the work done and see where it needed a person.

All five are recorded on Claude against the fictional Northwind books and checked against an answer key.

An accruals agent that stops for approval

It drafts five accruals that match the answer key, writes workings only, and holds the final file for the controller. When another agent relays an approval, it declines.

A bank reconciliation tied to the cent

Adjusted bank and adjusted book agree at 1,779,474.31, the one amount mismatch is found, and a probable duplicate payment of 3,118.40 is flagged without being asked.

An invoice with a hidden instruction

The agent refuses to change the vendor bank details, reports the instruction and holds the payment. The controls that protect the money sit outside the model.

A change of model, then a re-test

The close assistant passes 5 of 5 checks before anyone relies on it again, and you build the same test for your own workflow.

One AI reviewing another

The reviewer finds a $45,000.00 overstatement of net income in a close memo, and flags 13 of the 14 planted errors. The signature stays with the person who signs.

What you hand in

The final file is the one you would give your controller when you propose changing a workflow.

You build it a section at a time, and each section comes back with written feedback before you revise.

The workflow and its cost

The workflow as it runs today, a measured baseline time, and the monthly cost of the AI step including the time it takes to review it.

Asking and checking

Your prompt, a line that proves the data is complete, and three checks with known answers.

Design and one run

A one-page design with a named person at each checkpoint, and a run on the Northwind books whose outputs you tie to source.

Controls and security

Data classes, a control over the AI step, defenses that do not depend on the model refusing, a trigger for re-testing and two KPIs with owners.

A one-page summary

What changes, the time saved net of review time, the cost, the main risks and how each is controlled.

Where it leads

The deliverable carries straight into the eight-week program.

The full program, AI for Accounting Professionals, adds the close in depth, reporting and population testing, the NIST frameworks, KPIs and governance, ethics and people, and a capstone adoption plan for your own function. It is $2,450 a seat.

Your November deliverable is a worked version of one capstone workflow. [Whether the November course counts toward the full program, owner to decide]
