In about four executive sessions you decide how much AI your function takes on, and you leave with the board paper that says so.

AI for CFOs is for CFOs, VPs of finance and firm partners. Live sessions led by a practitioner, a peer group of six to eight finance executives, and a board paper that comes back with written feedback before you take it to your board.

  • Live: about four executive sessions, recorded and posted within 24 hours
  • Peers: a group of six to eight finance executives
  • Price: $4,950 per seat. Team training: contact us.

What the auditor and the board will ask · a recorded review

Asked to review a close memo drafted by another AI before the controller signed, the reviewer found net income overstated by exactly $45,000.00, removed an accounting citation that did not say what the memo claimed, and flagged 13 of the 14 planted errors. The fourteenth it corrected in its rewrite without flagging it.

Recorded on Claude Sonnet 5.5 against the fictional Northwind books and checked against the course key. A review pass this strong still leaves the signature with the person who signs. In the program that becomes your question: what do you tell the audit committee about where AI reviews and where a person does?

The decisions you make

Each session ends with a decision brief you could defend in the boardroom.

Portfolio and investment case

Which finance workflows are worth taking on across the function, what each costs per transaction, build, buy or wait, the return you hold them to, and when you stop.

Operating model and risk appetite

Assistant, workflow or agent, how much autonomy an agent gets by type of action, which data goes in which tool, and what trigger stops a use.

Board, audit committee and auditor

What changes for ICFR and SOX, what the audit committee is asked to note or approve, and what the auditor will ask.

Vendors, people and the paper

Which vendors and contract terms you accept, your talent position, and how you present the paper.

What you finish with

The board paper, built from four decision briefs and read and commented on before you present it.

A paper of six to eight pages with a one-page summary. It sets out the opportunity and its cost, the operating model and risk appetite, the investment case, the audit committee plan, the vendor and data position, and the people and roadmap. You present it to your peer group in ten minutes, and it comes back with written feedback.

The evidence comes from recorded runs on the Northwind books, checked against answer keys, with the places the AI went wrong shown alongside the places it went right.

How it is taught

Executive time is short, so the sessions are live, the work is specific, and the room is your peers.

Live and led by a practitioner

Sessions are live and recorded, so a missed one is watched the next day.

A peer group of six to eight

Finance executives who can speak openly about their own function, kept to the group.

A full set of company books

The Northwind books carry the cost, the controls and the investment case, so no company data enters an AI tool.

Written feedback on the paper

An AI grading assistant drafts it, and a person approves the board paper score.

You answer for the function: CFOs, VPs of finance, firm partners

Your decision is how much AI the function takes on, at what cost, and what the board and audit committee are told. AI for CFOs runs about four executive sessions with a peer group, at $4,950 per seat.
